When users use archive (PST) in programs in Outlook settings, they get stuck in the Outlook folder tree associated with the left side. By default, the Outlook archive folders are named: Outlook “My Data File”. As people can see, in my Outlook settings it eatsü 2 archive folders that are additionally linked to “My name guessing data file (1)” and “My Microsoft Outlook data file (2)”.

Note. In the newest version of Outlook and later versions, the default name in new PST files is definitely “My Outlook Data” (in earlier versions of Outlook, “File” might have been named “Personal Folders”). When using AutoArchive, the default PST file producer is usually “Archive”.

The names of these PST entries are quite long and will show up unless you increase the width of the folder in the panel. Do you have a lot of archived data connected? Or maybe mailbox archives? If so, it might be a little confusing. Let’s see how to change the names of archive files and mailboxes in Outlook. Follow these steps to rename archived files.

Microsoft Outlook Archive File

Step 1

In Outlook, right-click the title/header of the archive file and select Data File Properties.

Step 2

The catalog archive name is listed at the top of the General tab. In today’sIn this case it is “My Outlook Data File (1)” and you cannot change this name because the field is not editable.

Click the More button.

Step 3

Then your whole family can give him any name in the Name field. We have changed the name of the archive to Sales2018. Click Apply and OK. And go!

Note that the PST file’s company name does not change in the File Name field. By default, the PST file is located in C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook. If you rename a repository file from Outlook only, the name of the graphic changes in the Outlook folders pane. The filename on most hard drives does not change. It’s actually called “My Outlook Data File (1).pst”.

If the person also wants to change the name of the PST file to make a particular thing more clear:

  1. Close all instances of Outlook and use Task Manager to see if the experts say that the outlook.exe process is no longer running;
  2. Rename the PST file to a directory C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook website. We’ve changed the name of the Sales2018 file to .pst;
  3. Start Outlook. In the catalog pane, click the Sales2018 store. A warning will appear: Your folder cannot be expanded. The ring folder cannot be opened. Could not find file C:…..My Outlook Data File(1).pst;
  4. Click OK, browse and select the well-renamed PST. Click Open.
  5. Restart Outlook.

You can easily view the full list of PST files and their names in the Outlook settings ring (File > Information > Account Settings > Account Settings > Data Files). As you can see from our setup, the Exchange mailbox (OST-Also file) contains two concatenated PST archive files.
